My weight loss had stalled at 194, I had continued to keep my calorie count low but had not been able to walk enough due to a sore right hip. I used that excuse for not exercising enough until I decided to start using my airofit glider which is low impact and allows me to get the exercise I need to take weight off

Most of the time if I look hard enough I can find a reason not to do some thing and being human I can usually find an excuse my sore shoulder and hip fit the bill perfectly. I will say that weight had stabilized at 194 with diet and normal daily activities

My BP has now dropped from the high 150s over the high 90s down to under 120/70s, The site I use is user friendly, free and provides me with much more information then just my daily caloric consumption of calories. Using the data available I am able to see what nutrients I do not get that I need, my sugar intake, my daily consumption of the omega oils and so much more. It is a great site but to use it fully you have to sign up, I do not get a bunch of garbage mail from the site. To view the site click on the link below

http://nutritiondata.self.com

Most of the time if I think a little I can come up with a way, for me the glider provides me with the exercise I need with out causing me discomfort.

I was motivated by my health to quit smoking and I am motivated again by my health to make healthier life style choices. I am now trying to consume no more then 1600 calories per day and to pick foods that supply me with the nutrients that my body needs to maintain my health.

Below is a typical day’s diet and exercise if I stick to the exercise and keep my calories under 1600 per day I will achieve my goal weight of 185

hey, earl ...looks like you are doing well . i have lost 10 lbs in my first month of exercise and change in eating habits. i expect the next 20 lbs to come off more slowly, but isn't it amazing how exercising more and making smarter food choices magically  results in better health and weight loss ! who would have guessed ?
keep up the good work !

Hi,

I just reconnected yet again to QSJ and am reading through my 2011 posts and I wanted to thank you for posting twice and for the advice.

Living now in Philadelphia, the biggest city I've ever lived in has had its challenges in socializing. You asked about my degree...I am a clinical psychologist completing my postdoctoral fellowship at upenn. It's embarrassing to be in the field in which I help other people quit addictions (albeit not my specialty in the least) but nonetheless shouldn't I know better that I need to take care of myself or that I will be no good to anyone? Well, as it turns out that saying has worked in opposition for me as I have rave reviews from supervisors and patients and I dedicate my spirit to them & see them grow and change...& then I arrive home alone in this city, snubbed by the folks in the IVY Tower, now without a car due to the accident that totaled my vechicle en route to moving here from my internship in Nashville. I do not know what your daughter would say...about the saying "dr heal thy self" who came up with that? It adds this extra layer in which doctors especially medical doctors are somehow expected to be superior and not have difficulties? What might your daughter say-You noted she is a doctor?

Just some random thoughts and questions ;;-) Congrats on your quit and your weight loss! You can do it!!!
Kaylie

 Lol at Skipper's entry....

Was just thinking about you today and wondering how your weight loss plan is going.

Hope life is treating you well.
