Went to visit my doctor today.  When she asked me if I had given any more thought to giving up smoking I was delighted to tell her that I had quit 4 months and 1 day ago.  I think she was rather surprised as we have been having this conversation for about the last 5 years.  I think she was expecting my usual response of  "I think about it all the time".  Nice to surprise one's doctor now and again.

My blood pressure medication may have to be reduced.  Diastolic pressure has always been good but systolic pressure was too high which was why I had to start taking medication about 4 years ago.  My systolic pressure is now perfect but diastolic is getting a little on the low side so doctor thinks she may have to reduce the dosage.   One of the real benefits of GIVING UP SMOKING - hoping that I may eventually be able to give up taking any medication.  One can only hope.

My good cholesterol is higher and bad cholesterol is lower and all other results of my blood tests are good.

All in all I'm not doing to bad for an old bird (actually more a spring chicken).

Well this spring chicken is shortly off to bed (its nearly midnight and even spring chickens need their sleep). Will have to try and catch up with everyone tomorrow.  Didn't have time tonight as I went out shortly after getting home from work.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Dewey

Awesome report from the Doctor!   It's amazing how much smoking affects us on so many levels!  Was going to send it to VC and Cami beat me to it.   I think it's great for everyone to know!  Maybe your story will encourage someone else to quit!  Hopefully, you'll be off your medicine soon!

Hope you have a great weekend!  Aren't your sister's coming to visit?  Wish I was there too!  We'd all have a blast!
