Hello Renea!  Welcome to QSJ.  If you have any questions moving around the site just let us know.  You will find that we are a wonderful support group that's more than eager to help you with your quit.

It's extremely helpful to read others journals and post often especially in the beginning.  The first two weeks are pure h_ll, but you CAN do this!  Many, many people have quit here, and there are different ways to try.  You'll find one that suits you and before you know it, you will have beat the nicodemon at his own game!

I hope that you'll jump right in and make yourself at home!  Let us know if there's anything that we can do to help.  Good luck and I look forward to seeing you around!

Funny how Jeremiah and I were posting at the same time without even knowing it.  Notice how we both said the same thing.  This IS the place to be!

Welcome Renea.  You've chosen the right to place to come for help when you stop smoking.  You will find everyone here very friendly, supportive and encouraging.  Keep yourself busy when you first stop especially when those cravings come to annoy you.  It is difficult during the first few weeks but getting through that time is worth it to be rid of the need to have a cigarette always handy.

You will find plenty on hints on the site to help you through those difficult times.  Post often and read and respond to others.  I practically lived on this site when I first stopped smoking.

Look forward to getting to know you.

Dewey

I'VE JUST BEEN HERE MYSELF SINCE ABOUT OCT 6TH.  I HAD TRIED TO QUIT SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE, BUT NEVER WITH A SUPPORT GROUP BEHIND ME.  BELIEVE ME, IT REALLY DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE.  AND I HAVE FOUND THIS TO BE A REALLY GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE.  THERE ARE EARLY QUITTERS, LIKE MYSELF, WE'RE CALLED "NEWBIES".  AND THEN I GUESS THE ONE'S WHO CALL US "NEWBIES".....MUST BE "OLDIES?"  .....HA!    BUT THEY'RE A VERY LOVABLE BUNCH!

Dear Renea, well this is not the picture I wanted to leave for you, but just as you are a new Quitsmoker here, I am new to photobucket -- well, worse than that. I just don't GET technical things. But like you, I quit smoking many times before I came here. You will love it.We are family, and we love new siblings!!

welcome. you are making one of the wisest choices of your life. when you are smoking practice NOT smoking by putting the sickerette down between drags and massage your ears/hands/feet as you breathe in thru your nose. it will help you during craves and times of stress when you quit smoking.
