Now that the state of California's School System has removed any referance of God from the Pledge of Allegiance, are we allowed to use TGIF (Thank God Its Friday)? Should it now be TIF (Thanks Its Friday), or how about TF (Thanks Friday)? TF wouldn't work because it sounds as if we are thanking Friday. You can't thank a man made concept like a day, month or year.
Maybe we can just say "Friday". That should be enough to get some type of emotional response - go ahead say it - Friday. Now doesen't that word sound good? It just doesn't get the idea across though (that TGIF did).
What if we would just say thanks. If someone holds a door open, say thanks. If someone waves you to go first at a 4 way stop, why not say thanks? If somone provides good advice here at the journal, we can just say thanks. While admiring all thats around us we can just say thanks. OH! But who would we say thanks too? ..... God ...... of course.
One thing I do know is that partially because of the support that I have received from all of here I will not be smoking this weekend. So let me say thanks - to all of you.
