Take a closer Look... by pete
hello,
First off, Ive been busy, im learning to be a bricklayer and learning to do plastering...for the last two weeks...
its not pretty, im not young, but trying to be...so I suffer for my art.....God Bless all of you and thank you in advance of me making it eleven months smoke free...har har har...
Now...lets get to the point:
take a closer look...
Over the years, I have blessed with the opportunity of flying over some of the most interesting places on the earth. Tokyo, Berlin, Athens, London, New York...Detroit (?), Jerusalem, Cairo and so many others...
each place, each city has so much to offer...
take the Pyramids for example...
Like so many places...from a distance they look so perfect...your heart stops as you parachute/fly in as you look at them....
but the problem is...when you get in closer...close up...you begin to realize how damaged and chipped they are...I mean really damaged...gaping holes...cracks...weathered and worn...actually missing whole chunks....the sickness is all around.........
kind of like smokers.. you see.....after so many years...
when you quit you continue to observe those that smoke.. sometimes...you look at them...and.they look so cool, close, comfortable..they have everything you may have suddenly lost...and its not funny.....you miss them..you miss what they do...especially when they are young...but then
you look at them up close...you realize after a few months...
that every hour they continue to smoke...and several of them smoke alot...and alot and alot...and you hear them cough...and cough and cough...just like you do as you smoke away...you stare at them..thinking and then you suddenly realize what a tragedy the addiction is...and what a tragedy you could/can become...what fools they are..
suddenly the glamour is gone....from a distance they look so cool...but up close you begin to see the cracks.....the decay....
I just hope you remember to look...a little closer...the next time you think you miss smoking...or your still smoking...and deciding whether or not to join us...
Join Us...and reject the cool people...
trust me, I am a loser that lost for so many years...but realized what the real truth is...
I am an addict, eleven months into a lifes worth of quit that refuses to believe the tobacco companies ...i now believe that I can make it without nicotine

Join us...

blessings....and peace !!!!

Pete

 Yes, I agree.  GREAT post!

Thank you!

why you can't do what you want to; find one reason why you CAN.
