Come the 13th of April...and its One year!! ...365.err..366 days (yep...this is a Leap year!!) of complete abstinence from nicotene.

Call it... a Gaint 'Leap' in faith...and belief!

Yes, i have done it.

It was a shaky and not-so-confidence start;
Add to this the date of my quit : Friday, the 13th!!! wasn't too auspicious either :-)).

But 10 days into my quit, i chanced to find QSJ and there was no looking back. I found the support i was looking for...not to mention all the wonderful folks here (Kathleen, Judy, Dave, The Coleens & The Kathys (all of them :-), the 'chic' people :-), the skippers...the walkers...the runners :-)), and yes B(ee)rick too, chinhi , the dannies,  and so many of you wonderful people whose names i DO remember but space limits me here :-).  All of you, without exception, have been my support and inspiration.

My Little Kiddo, who turned an year ago last month IS A catalyst in my quit process too.

My achievement ( and i know there are folks here whose achievements dwarf mine) shows the power of belief.... My belief in myself and belief in my quit and My will power (or rather my Won't Power).

My message to all you people who are yet "wanting to quit" and who are not very confident of keeping their quit (i was one such person) : DECIDE AND QUIT NOW. THERE IS NO BETTER TIME. NOW is the time. And once you have QUIT...just believe in yourself, in all the good things that life has and is yet to offer YOU... YOU have the wont power (i WONT smoke) and you CAN do it( I CAN Quit).

Think how FOOLISH are the reasons we give to smoke!! (I am pissed off..I want to relieve stress, i want to reduce the tension...Its my life and i dont care abt it...Huh.. foolish enough, aint it!!!!!! - As a smoker i too had all these wonderful reasons to give)

When an incorrigible and unreformable guy like me could stop smoking and stay quit for an year, i am confident you definitely can.

I want each one of you to do me a favour...Please mention any TWO (most) important things that happened to you after your quit (examples...are ..betterment of health...of relationships...of saving money...so on..)

Godspeed to each one of you in the quit journey!

cheers
Ramesh

A year!  Thats awesome!  I can't even begin to imagine that far ahead.  Treat yourself to something cause you deserve it!

Enjoy your day and take care!

Oh yea....two things I've noticed in just 2 days......(1) I love not smelling like smoke....never liked the smell.  (2)  Enjoy saving the money.  Maybe I'll treat myself to something down the road a bit.

Great... Great Post...   Thanks ... after all the bad stuff going on here at the site... I needed a boost of inspiration and you just gave me it.   I am on 16 days again and I will name two things that has changed that are important to me since I have quit again...   1st  I no longer am ashamed of myself..  I hide and smoked and felt horrible and had little to no self confidence about myself.. now I feel like I am not ashamed and need not hide from anyone.   2nd...   my health... my breathing ...  when working out... I do not pant like a dog.   I get get through Curves and not feel like I need a oxygen tank.

Take care and  A big Congrats on your upcoming year lunaversary...  really great.

I can do it..... I know I can.

You were incorrigible? Nevah!!

Gosh, it does my heart good to see you on the front page again. I hope your dad is still improving and all is well in that respect. Your whole family is in my thoughts, Ramesh. Cheers!
