I have eagerly anticipated this day!!! My 3 year anniversary of ~Not one puff EVER~ and here it is! I am a recovered smoker and very proud of it!! Sometimes a little surprised still that this is my life now but always proud. In the last few months there were some strange  desires and 'wants' for a cigarette on occasion but that was NOT going to happen, because I don't smoke! And no matter how much my mind may crave one on that rare occasion I am a non-smoker!!

I an so grateful to so many people here who held my hand from December of 2007 when I joined all the way through my actual final quit and then continued to hold it until I finally felt able to walk out into the world on my own! Dave (syscokid) Wrote me the most amazing letter in the midst of one of my tries and basically said that I would never be given up on!! Peter d~well Peter believed in me when I couldn't anymore and he just knew that some day I would quit! And Pykke~hahaha~ She simplified it in chat one night, "DO you want to quit?" "Yes" "Then just do it!!" LOL... Yep Just do it!! It really was that simple...

And Talk about being tested by the universe. The first three months of my quit were the most stressful my life could be!! Everything kept coming at me from so many directions I thought I would have a break down without my crutch~but I didn't and I grew strong.. It took me until about the 8.5 month mark before I really felt I had passed that invisible mark into my "Happy" place within my quit, but I was so grateful when it finally came.

I don't remember exactly who said it but one of the members here told me just to get to one year and if I really wanted to be a smoker I could have there blessing!! HAHAHA~like that was going to happen! The beginning is rough and sometimes I come here and read the new quitters struggles to stay reminded how much I never want to go through that period again. But it gets so much better, life gets better, and being an ex-smoker is infinity times better than smoking ever was.

Thank you Earl for this site and Members for your commitment~ Thank you to everyone that joined me on that quit train in 2009 and share a part in today's celebration!!

Off to VC!  I'm not sure why you aren't on the Quit Dates list, but I'm adding you back.  You have so much to be proud of!  You have overcome obstacles that others can only dream of.

You have been instrumental in so many other's quits, including my own.  You held my hand as we laughed and cried together!  You showed me that I had it in me if I'd only just believe in myself.

I hope you take the time to celebrate.  You're a remarkable woman that gives so much of yourself to others.  You will always hold a special place in my heart!  I wouldn't be here today without YOU!  (((hugs)))

I love you Cami!

Congratulations, 3 years is fantastic. I remember many words of encouragement from you, and can't thank you enough (am 1 year behind you).

Yes looking back at the start a year just seems so far away, and you can't even stop thinking about smoking for more than about 3 minutes, and all these people sound so together and in control it almost seems so far away. Well not anymore, and wasn't it worth it.

You should definately
have a lovely treat this week.

Well done, and thank you again

Three years is totally ridiculously wonderfully, terrific. It's hard to believe isn't it? I will be going on four years June 13th. I still can't believe it and I think the same way, I never want to go through that quit again.
Congrats again
hugs

When I think back on it and I am reminded often when I see you post on Facebook with your posts of health and happiness - I realize that I had an impact on someone and that is all I have ever wanted. So many people here helped me by "not giving up on my relapsing self". I had a burning desire to return the favor and you had the desire but needed a friend.

Three years ago when you were struggling to get over the hump you needed to know you were not alone in this fight. Family and friends surely wanted us to quit but as you and I found out that was not enough. To have this site, QSJ, where others who have fought the same battle is a life saver. Everyone here is committed to changing our lives but nicotine is a tough fight to do alone. We are here for each other - whether we know it or not.

I could not be prouder than I am now seeing you at 3 years!!! All I did was return the favor but you had the courage to follow through with your desire to quit. You are helping so many people in other area's such as exercise and diet. You are returning the favor ten fold!!!

Thank-you for believing in yourself, quitting, and continuing to better your life and those who you are touching each and every day.

I could not be prouder Cami!!!
