Today officially marks my fifth month of being smoke-free.  It's been a great day and a little melancholy.  Two of my good friends are leaving Korea for their home country.  They are a married couple around my age and have been a huge part of my life for nearly eight months.

Saturday is their last day in the ROK and I'm going to miss them terribly.  But I'm also beyond grateful for the fact that I think they will be "in" my life forever.  I still get rocked by how people can pop into your life and have such an impact.  They keep your head above water and keep you laughing, even when you aren't feeling like it.

I haven't smoked a cigarette in five months and I don't intend to ever smoke again, but I feel like I've sort of let go of the maintenance part of my non-smoking habit.  The gym has been missing me and I've been getting into bad patterns. (laziness)  Japan was sort of an eye-opener for me and I realized that I haven't been working on me enough.  I need to get motivated and I need to be in a place that motivates me and you all are pros.  I've been reading posts and I'm just so darned moved by all the love and support swirling around.  It's beautiful!

Hopefully, Monday I'll be smacking the bikes down like Cami and maybe beating on some other gym equipment.  Who knows?

Have a great Sunday and God bless you!

Happy five months Kate!  Finding the motivator is always tricky for me, but when I find it, wow, its magic!

5 months is a HUGE accomplishment - you have gotten through the toughest parts of quitting.  Should you ever decide to think about smoking again, just remember that the tough part is OVER!  Congratulations!  And... I also know what it is like to have folks impact your life and then have to leave.  Even when you "keep in touch" it's really not the same so sorry for you loss and congrats on the new connection.  Hang in their with the quit and God speed as always...

Congratulations on this very special day. Five months is a large accomplishment! Keep tending to your quit and don't get complacent...I think you are already figuring this out. It is important for us all to stay vigilant, lest we find ourselves back to day one. No way! lol

I did some net research guided by the question you put in my journal about artificial cartilage. I don't think it has been invented yet. There are cartilage grafting procedures, though. I think I will ask my doc about the things I found out today. I am blessed by your words. Thank you.

Congratulations to you! I know this place was my life line in the beginning of my quit. I think it is truly the love of all it's members that help so many to be successful.
