I am still focusing on one day at a time, but I did feel that if I could at least get one week under my belt, I could feel like I had turned a corner of sorts that I haven't been able to manage for awhile.  I came home on Friday and wanted to smoke, but then I busied myself with something else, and the craving passed, and I was fine, and I've had a great weekend, no cravings since.

My desire is to be strong enough in my quit by Labor Day weekend that our trip to the lake won't be a problem.  There will be smokers there, and I know I will have to be on guard and especially strong to not slip.  I will tell our friends there that I have quit, so there is no chance that I will decide that maybe it's OK to have "just one."  I know too well how that has always turned out in the past.

But, I will cross that bridge when I get to it.  For now, I am having a wonderful, smokefree day.  I hope you are too!

So glad to see you posting.  Sounds like you're going to be busy soon.  Take each day one at a time.  You CAN do this!

Wanted to also thank you for your kind words in my journal.  You're a sweetheart!

Hope to see you again soon!

Hi Dawn -

Thanks for the note.

This looks great -  you have YOUR quit going.  That is terrific.  Try to remember that this quit is yours and you are not going to let any person or circumstance take it away.  Maybe think about it as your baby - no woman would let anyone harm her baby.

Remember those friends at the lake really want to quit too.  They either won't admit it or have failed.  You can show them that it can be done.  Underneath what they might say - they want to quit too.  They will join you sometime and for now they will love and respect you just as much and likely more if you continue your quit.

My best to you Young Lady - Gandalf
