Hey all!
Surprise! I remembered to do quit dates!

My Mom made it through her total knee replacement
surgery with flying colors! And I am getting through this
somewhat stressful situation with flying colors also.

Probably wouldn't be so bad if my brother wasen't using
me as a venting buddy! lol! But he dosen't get much opportunity
to do so with me living in Indiana and him here in Va....so
I kind of understand! My Mom has a tendency to NOT listen
to him when he and his wife try to give her advice.
On Mom's side of the story, she sees it as them 'telling'
her what to do...and well, she's 76 and knows what she wants! lol!
Kind of stressful being put in the middle and seeing both sides.
I've tried to explain to my brother that he needs to put it in more of
a 'suggestion' phrase, but well......

I did learn something from him yesterday that I didn't know
until now. Back about 10 years ago, my Father passed away. I've
always been lead to believe that it was because of a clot that
went to his lung after a minor surgery. Yesterday I found out
that it was due to a bad reaction to the anesthesia. I also found
out that when they did the autoposy, they found that he was
"eaten up" with cancer. Why my brother waited until now to tell
me this I don't know. But it sure is making this quit 'The Sticky Quit'
for me! My Dad was a smoker all his life.

I've managed to get my Mom to go into Rehab after she's released
from the hospital instead of coming straight home. Which should
have made my brother happy, as that's what he's been harping about
but he's still not happy because she's willing to go for 'a week or
maybe two', and he thinks she should stay longer. Geez! Does he
not realize that she will probably see that she needs to stay longer
AFTER she finds out how limited her mobility will be?

Missing home already.....
