Still comfortable and confident in my quit, really think I've done it this time, don't even need to use inhalator or nicotine gum anymore. I've come back to work and I'm pleased to see that 2 other smokers have quit, we've only got one left now!

I know what you mean peter d regarding my last entry, on arriving back in the UK, I was met by the stench of fags and multiple smokers outside the doors of the airport! Much worse and more widespread here in the UK I think, maybe cos we are such a smaller country, but the smoking and drinking problems here seem to be massive in comparison with the US. Also the British 'culture' of drinking to get drunk, whereas Americans seem to generally be fine with having a couple of light beers with a meal and don't feel the need to get smashed out of their face at every opportunity like British people do.

It was so nice to be in a warm climate, and in a place where food and petrol is actually affordable! You guys are so lucky! I miss the US already, back to cold miserable grey skies of england. However, I did miss the pretty countryside of Cornwall and the sea, it's nice to be back to that :)

Nice job.  Keep strong and you will get the monkey off your shoulder forever.
The first two weeks of your quit will be the hardest thing you do in your life unless you must quit again. Not one puff! --Janet--

OMG, I nearly choked when you said the gas was affordable. Geez, what is it over there?
I like hearing someone elses perspective on Amaerica who lives elsewhere. I would love to visit England one day. And the pubs too. LOL.
Thanks for sharing.
I remember being one of those smokers outside the airport, now I stand there while my hubby smokes.
lots of hugs

Congratulations on still powering through.

Holidays is one of those times when it is very easy to lapse, as you are out of routine. But you didn't!!!

Hi Heidi, when I was in Orlando the gas was about $3.50 a gallon, here it is £1.37 per litre, which equates to about $7.80 per gallon....!!!!

And UK wages do not reflect the massive gas and food prices either, the average UK salary for an ordinary working person in an office/bank etc is around £12,000-16,000, which doesn't go very far. And 'luxury' items like clothes and toiletries have massive amounts of tax on them too, and everything goes up every few months, although wages don't! It's going to get to a point where more and more people can't afford to live and buy the absolute basics.

Although we do get a free health service so there's one bonus!
