I read through others journals and I'm amazed at how many quit for a length of time and then relapse. I haven't stopped this long in all my years of smoking. Reading the quit and relapse journals ,some after years on their quit, sme realise that I am not invincible on this quit. I realise that although I feel GREAT at 24 days I need to protect my quit daily.
To all the guys who have quit and relapsed - I know it sounds strange to do this but thanks. I see so many of you, well all of you really, pick yourself up time and again.
Your journey makes me understand how important it is to hold on to my quit and protect it. To not become complacent about being smoke free but to be ever vigilant.
So for today, just today, I choose to protect my quit on day 24.
QUIT DATE: 10 JAN 2012
Smoking is yours to Choose or Reject. Which do you embrace?

Good for you Carmin! Yes, come and read journals every day if you can. Constant reinforcement and conviction is key to beating this nasty addiction. Don't dream up thousands of reasons
why you can't do what you want to; find one reason why you CAN.

good for u to protect ur precious quit. i am 9+ years smoke free. i know that i am one puff away from a smoke a day even now. even when tempted, i remember my fella quitters who had that one puff and had trouble getting back on board. keep it going.

Well as you probably read I am one of those that threw away my long term and have had a hell of a time getting it back - I have quit often since then and this time I am feeling very strong and positive ...
It really rocks your ability to get a firm quit going when you yo you quit .........it sucks so I would want to warn anyone to keep their precious quit- it is not so easy to get it back!

I was so glad to read your post - You rock....... If you keep thinking the way you do and keep being aware of the dangers of "just one puff" (no such thing......) then you will be surprised at how quickly the time flies.............. "Never leave another quitter behind" borrowed from BTBasser to whom I owe such a large part of my quit............quit date February 14th 2007
