Hi Everyone,

Thanks for the well wishes my surgery was a success and recovery was a breeze.  Great news the little lump in the thyroid is benign!!!

My official quit date was 2/9 and I'm happy to report that I have only had one cigarette since.  It was stupid and well, disgusting.  The trigger was on Sunday night at the casino - here in MN they are on reservations and this one does not have a non-smoking law so I found myself surround by smoke and smokers smoking.  Like a desparate addict, I asked a complete stranger if I could buy a cigarette and confessed my quitting fear that if I didn't buy just one I'd buy a whole pack (sure others have been there).  So, lesson learned, stay away from the casino filled with smokers!  I wasn't even stressed out - I was winning and having a good time.

Since then it's been easy breezy.  I know it won't always be but this time certainly feels different.  I don't think I ever looked at smoking in the way I did this time before quitting so I suppose that helped.

This site is awesome!  Glad I can go somewhere to celebrate my success and confess my failures without judgement...no one in my life really wants to hear about my quitting smoking journey - they've heard it before and are at the "believe it when we see it" phase with my addiction.

Quit: 2/9/11 - do I have to change my quit date because I slipped or does it stay the same?? LOL
Quit Method - Change brands to natural brand American Spirt (I heard there are addictions to the additives too so removed them first), cut down 3 a day until at 3 then one a day

Yep,,,lesson learned,,,
stay away from the Casino right now
the day will come when you will be able to go and sit
and become completely disgusted when someone
sits next to you and lights up
they will smell worse than the smoke
because the smoke in their hair and on their clothes
will be old and stale

protect your quit

quit date--Dec 26, 2007
hold on tight to your dream,,,,

Glad you got the message from the one smoke- now you know in your heart that you do not want to be a smoker...

Hold onto that thought and run with it--- 2 weeks is GREAT --

ps - I would not re-set my meter unless you have another smoke ......just my opinion - 1 get out of jail free card , other than that it can be used as a excuse to smoke again

~~The time is always right , to do what is right ~~ KTQ ~~Kathy
