Happy Healthy 2011...!

Hi and Cheers to a Happy and Healthy New Year...to Everyone at QSJ... !
I am sorry I haven't been around to support you this Holiday season...which can often be a big trigger for many who have quit smoking...but a few months ago and much sickness a brain aneurysm was found on my basilar tip...basically a bad spot, the bottom of my skull... On November 30th I had the aneurysm coiled... they will have to go back in 6 months to my brain and check to make sure the coils have cut off the aneurysm and redirected the blood supply in my brain...while having the coiling process I had other complications...I bled in my hip and back of my throat...leading to them inducing a coma and going back in to find all spots that were bleeding...and giving me a blood tranfusion and spending a week in Neuro ICU...I have been home for a few weeks...and gaining my strength everyday...I deal with Headaches and eye pain...but this is my journey towards healing...and will take a few months until the swelling in the brain goes down...basically, I am a "Survivor"...I am blessed and lucky to be alive...and pray that 2011 brings better Health my way...I am blessed to have so many prayers and wonderful thoughts from all of you...
I want to especially Thank...Babs, Betsy, PeterD, and Earl...I know each of you were cheering me on...and to the rest of you who wrote me, lite candles, prayed, cards etc., Thank you...Kat, Chin, Lucky, Kathy(skipper8), Sherri (ltlsqueak), Lucy(beststarmom), L.b. Sherrie, Cindy66, Joules(I know you know alot about this journey), Jeff(Jeremiah), It Princess, Tashia, Bliss, Ozzy, Syscokid(Dave), Noni, Scout, Cami, Bliss, Bobbiesue, Alliecat, Vicki, Dewey...and I am so sorry if I am missing someone...
I would love to make this about smoking...and quitting, but the best I can say...if you want the Quit...You will Quit...and that, every medical person at the University would consistently say to myself and hubby..."Colleen is lucky that she quit smoking..."....this would have turned out alot worse had she been a smoker...Life is Short...real short...Don't waste it on Cigarettes...Choose to Live...!
Enjoy your New Year...and Be safe...and you don't have to wait till tommorrow to Quit Smoking ... Do it Now...you never know when your life will depend on it...

Colleen - I am so happy to hear that you are doing better.....I have kept you in my prayers and I am glad to see they were answered. We were all very worried when Neil posted about the bleeding....I know from experience what that can mean. So here is to you, a speedy recovery, and a happy and healthy 2011!

I want you to know it did my heart good to see your note in my journal. I hope you also know how much your support has meant to me over the years. You are still as big a part of my quit as you ever were..I know that if I started to pick up a cigarette right now I could email you in a flash. And the same in reverse. There are some people you just know will be always-friends.
