for adding to my special birthday. It was a pretty wonderful day, with phone calls and gifts. My sister sent a wonderful Panasonic stereo system (flat screen type) with AM/FM radio (she knew I had no way to listen to my CD's) now all I got to do is figure out how to use it. Ahemm. Tashia, where are you? I need to borrow your brain, if you don't mind!
I had lunch with my older brother and he was very gracious. He is on day #68 today as a nonsmoker and I am very proud of him. I tell you, if can quit, you or anyone else can quit. It's been a real struggle for him but he is hanging in.
Saw my favorite resident that I care for, talked to my friend Sherri, heard from one of my grandsons. Turned out he didn't know it was my birthday. He was calling because he can't locate his dad at the moment. So at the end of the call, I said "Guess you didn't know you were calling on my birthday..." and he laughed and said he had no idea.. But we're close and it was fine! His birthday is coming on Valentine's day, and he will be 33.
the only dark moment in the day was getting an email from my oldest daughter who had emailed me on the 23rd that my granddaughter Nikki had her second son on the 20th, named Wren. (Wren? I am not kidding) But he is a beautiful baby boy. The dark moment was that I had been emailing this daughter asking why she had not written back, as she has some serious health problems and was supposed to go for testing on the 24th. Her email yesterday said only "I am very ill will write you when I can sit down" Oh God, I am very worried. Please join me in prayers for her.
Gotta run. Due to meet someone downstairs in 5 minutes.
