Hi everyone,,,,Had no internet access for over a week so I missed my QSJ dearly.

I had a moment of relapse as well. Went to a party and wasn't strong enough. I'm a beer or whiskey drinker by choice. I thought I was strong enough but realised I was sorely mistaken. After throwing back a few beers I just HAD to have a smoke. I mean HAD to!!! I could not control the urge and finally gave in. I smoked the rest of the night.
The next morning I lit up again. And only when I lit the second smoke that morning I looked at it and thought "What the H*#L am I doing!!??? Those first 2 weeks were torture!!! Just torture and here I was putting myself back in that position. It's been 8 days since then and I feel great again.

But I know now that the nico-demon is lurking behind every corner.

This support site is so important!! During my relapse period I cannot tell you all how much I missed being on here. Even though it was just a day it was tough getting back on track.

But I'm here now................. and clean and that's all that matters..........the here and now

Sorry to hear you had that little set back but I completely understand. I failed on alot of my quits because of the alchohol. That's why I gave up drinking this last time I quit. After almost 9 months smoke free I can now have a beer without wanting that smoke. It takes a little time but eventually you will be able to have a drink again without smoking.

I WILL STOP SMOKING THIS TIME FOR ME AND MY HEALTH.

the little triggers are so tricky.  Once I quit smoking by using hypnosis (I was quit for 15 years that time!) and part of the theory was to also alter your patterns..toothpaste, what you do after a meal, whether or not to quit drinking coffee/alcohol...triggers, I was thinking.

Glad you have your internet back, too!!

I've lost many a quit over alcohol, and decided these past couple of quits to just eliminate alcohol from my life until further notice...maybe for good, idk and it doesn't matter much to me right now because my quit is the most important thing and not worth endangering over a drink or two
